Let us help you get started in a comfortable, no-judgement workshop with experienced Viniyoga teachers!
Receive a home practice to get you started.
The workshop starts with light snacks at check-in at 5:00 pm and a short lecture (starts 5:30 pm) before moving to breakout sessions for a yoga practice. You will choose your breakout session when you register.
Experience how to do common yoga postures, how to link your breath to movement, and what adaptations you may need to be comfortable in your body. We emphasize safety and individual adaptation!
What to wear: Wear comfortable clothes that have some stretch and coverage.
Avoid eating a large meal right before the workshop. We will provide light snacks at check-in starting at 5:00 pm.
We will provide: light snacks at check-in, blankets, blocks, and a limited supply of yoga mats.
What to bring: A yoga mat if you have one. Your sense of adventure and curiosity and humor! We will laugh and keep it light. Invite a friend or spouse to join you.

Learn the fundamentals of basic yoga poses while experiencing how your breath links to, and guides, your movements. It is very natural to wonder, “But, why am I doing this pose?” We’ll cover the primary function and benefit of each pose too. A restful Savasana at the end of class will give you time to relax as your body processes all that you learned.
Managing Your Energy With Yoga
The postures and breath practice in yoga can be harnessed as a tool for directing your energy. Are there times when you need to wake up, clear the morning brain fog and gather some energy for your day? Do you need ideas for how to reduce stress, calm an overly active mind and get a good night’s sleep? This is an introduction to basic yoga practices which help us energize, and those useful for turning back the dial.
Yoga for Men
If you’re a guy and have thought of trying a yoga class when you’re in better shape, don’t wait any longer. This workshop will help you ﬁt right in at the “Men’s No Lycra Yoga” class that happens every Thursday night at 5:30 pm. This is a traditional yoga class with an emphasis on some of the most beneficial postures without a lot of frills and fancy moves. Step by step, we learn how to do the postures and how to link breathing to the practice of postures. You will also learn simple breath techniques that help with relaxation and clear thinking. Sweatpants and a t-shirt are ﬁne.
Prenatal Yoga for Moms & Dads
Prenatal yoga helps prepare moms physically and emotionally for labor and delivery, addresses how to minimize or alleviate common discomforts during pregnancy, provides an opportunity for moms to focus on self-care, and form a connection to their changing body and to their growing baby.
The prenatal workshop will outline the benefits of prenatal yoga and the types of postures and breath practices that are safe for pregnant moms. You will experience movement through a mini-physical yoga practice to stretch and strengthen your body and create space for your growing baby and yourself.
You will learn and practice various breath techniques to create a relaxation response in your body. These types of techniques can be utilized during labor and delivery to create a more manageable laboring process.
This workshop is suited for moms and dads to learn about the benefits of prenatal yoga and how dads can support their partner through their pregnancy and laboring process. You will learn about the types of postures that are safe for pregnant moms.
In addition to your questions, the following questions will also be addressed in this workshop:
- What are the benefits of going to a prenatal yoga class?
- When is the best time to start prenatal yoga?
- Do I have to have experience practicing yoga before I was pregnant to attend prenatal yoga classes?
- How can I minimize discomforts with my pregnancy, such as,
- upper back, neck and shoulder tension
- low back discomfort
Wear comfortable clothing to be able to move with ease. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat if you have one. The studio has a limited supply of yoga mats available.
