NIH Study on Viniyoga for Chronic Low Back Pain
Gary Kraftsow, founder of the American Viniyoga Institute and teacher/Yoga Therapist trainer of many of our teachers, developed the Viniyoga Therapy intervention for a National Institutes of Health study on low back pain. The study demonstrated that Viniyoga was as effective as an exercise-based program for chronic low back pain.

Aetna Viniyoga Stress Reduction Program
The Viniyoga Stress Reduction Program, a 12-week Viniyoga-based program pilot for Aetna employees, demonstrated statistically significant reductions in stress and current pain, improvements in heart rate variability (a measure of autonomic nervous system tone), and directionally favorable results in sleep improvement, symptoms of depression and long term and worst pain ever compared to the control group.
