I am a Mother, farmer, student and teacher of Yoga.

The practice of Yoga has served as a formative companion to me throughout much of my life. At the age of 16, I began earnestly exploring the practice as a means of stress reduction.

Slowly the practice evolved into something more physical, and then spiritual, and then contemplative, back to physical, back to spiritual, back to contemplative, and so on and so forth.

What will you experience during this 4-Week Series? 

  • Engage in a yoga practice to get in touch with the senses of summer fading and fall with yoga postures – asana that invoke your senses
  • Receive a weekly seasonal recipe to offer an awakening of your senses
  • Learn a new weekly ayurvedic technique to support the seasonal change

Weekly Class Themes & Recipes:

Week #1 Theme: Sense
Recipe: Roasted cauliflower with tomato and cilantro relish, and tahini cream (simultaneously cooling and warming)
Meditation: Sensing the present moment
Ayurvedic Technique: Facial massage

Week #2 Theme: Clarify
An energetic practice with breath emphasis to help clear the mind of persistent thought.
Recipe: Recipe that cleanses the palate, Mukhwas
Ayurvedic Technique: Netti pot, sinal flush, pull oil

Week #3 Theme: Ground
Soothe the vagus nerve throughout asana practice, and emphasis on regulating the nervous system
Recipe: Recipe that is a maha grounder, Kitchari
Ayurvedic Technique: Dry brushing and oiling, abhyanga
Week #4 Theme: Warm 
A strong practice that gently builds warmth in the body with an emphasis on a deep savasana
Recipe: Seasonal recipe that warms, ginger pumpkin soup
Ayurvedic Technique: herbal tea, fennel, licorice of ginger and coziness

Practice with Nelle is focused on breath-centered movement and clear alignment cues. You can expect movement and flow through asana as well as static holds. The mood is playfully curious, yet earnest, with plenty of modifications for all seasons of practitioner. Classes will end with a generous Savasana and opportunity for a reflective meditation. May this offering ignite your inner wisdom and well-being.
