Jan. 19th, Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. CST – The Power of Play and the Art of Connection

Summary: This 90-minute workshop offers an introduction into the “seriousness” of play as a life-long tool for creating vitality and connection. Participants can expect to leave with a deeper understanding of the power of yoga play and tapping into the brain’s potential to build CONNECTION through a variety of strategies.

Objectives:
● Review the research around the importance of play
● Learn what J.A.R. stands for and how to apply it
● Understand 2 key components that build connection in all interactions
● Explore mindfulness and movement strategies that tap into the brain’s potential
• Observe real time “yoga play” connection between child and teacher
● Play and connect

Feb 2nd, Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. CST – Developing Breath Connection and Toning the Vagus Nerve

Summary: This 90-minute workshop offers an introduction into the importance of working with the breath and vagus nerve in promoting self-regulation and a balanced nervous system. The power of yoga play is that it works…from the inside out. Participants can expect to leave with a deeper understanding of approachable, playful strategies that link children and adults to the physiology of breath and “love nerve” in building resiliency and connection.

Objectives:
❏ Understand why the breath connection is empowering and essential
❏ Learn the science of the Autonomic Nervous System (A.N.S.) “Gas vs. Brakes”
❏ Explore playful breath interactives and methodology
❏ Learn the science of the vagus nerve or “love nerve”
❏ Discover strategies that help tone the vagus nerve
❏ Observe real time “yoga play” connection between child and teacher

Feb 16th, Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. CST – Connecting to Calm: Anxiety and Anger Strategies

Summary: This 90-minute workshop offers an introduction into managing anxiety and anger through mindfulness strategies working with breath, sound, movement, and energy psychology. The power of yoga play is that it works…from the inside out. Participants can expect to leave with some simple take-home tools in helping themselves and children move from worry and frustration to connection and calm.

Objectives:
❏ Review ingredients for safe space connections
❏ Review Autonomic Nervous System “gas vs brakes”
❏ Learn playful breath techniques that work to help calm anxiety
❏ Understand and explore movement strategies to quickly shift energy
❏ Explore the use of sound in calming anxiety and cooling anger
❏ Observe real time “yoga play” connection between child and teacher

March 2nd, Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. CST – Building Empathy: Connecting to Others

Summary: This 90-minute workshop explores the importance of empathy in prosocial behavior and tools for building empathetic qualities. Participants will engage in a powerful interactive involving body mapping, emotional vocabulary and self-awareness designed to be transformative in understanding connection on a deeper level. The power of yoga play is that it works…from the inside out.

Objectives:
❏ Learn the R.O.E. acronym and how to implement
❏ Know the 9 tools that help develop and expand empathy
❏ Use interoception (inner G.P.S.) in working with emotional awareness and expression
❏ Participate in a deeply transformative interactive that builds connection
❏ Observe real time “yoga play” connection between child and teacher

 

 


FACILITATOR
Stacey Loop

Stacey Loop, C-IAYT; E-RYT 500: RCYT; IIN Health Coach; BS Special Education

Stacey Loop is a certified yoga therapist and holistic health coach specializing in adapting therapeutic breath, movement, and meditation to an individual’s condition. As a former Special Education Teacher, she was drawn to the therapeutic application of yoga and the science of adaptation to help the practitioner optimize their health. Stacey is expertly trained to work with conditions ranging from structural, physiological, and mental health in a private one-to-one setting.

In 17 years, Stacey has taught over 3,000 classes in teacher training, special education topics, therapeutic privates, mentoring, and public classes. She has co-presented at the University of Texas’s Social Workers Conference in 2017 and 2018 on the topic of “Inner Transformation: A Holistic Approach for Kids with Neurological Issues”. Stacey successfully trained teachers in children’s yoga for 5 summers. This sparked a deep passion to launch her own 95 hour certified Children’s Yoga Teacher Training in the spring of 2021. She is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.

Stacey finds deep satisfaction in being of service to others. Outside of work, she spends time daily in her own yoga and meditation practice. One of her favorite past times is cultivating stillness by connecting to nature, especially by the ocean’s rhythmic waves. Dancing creates true joy and she dances weekly with her father in Parkinson’s Dance classes. Stacey is a true believer in the power of play.
