Megan Doyle is a yoga therapist who lives in San Diego. She discovered yoga at thirteen while debating with Hare Krishna devotees. Yoga developed in her through a career as a social justice lawyer, a master’s degree in writing, and her ongoing application of the system of yoga. Her yoga is thoughtful, safe, and responsive to the conditions of the students who find her.
Over the years, many wonderful teachers have guided her yoga. She’s traveled to India to learn from Pattabhi Jois, Menaka Desikachar, and Kausthub Desikachar. Over a decade of study with Gary Kraftsow she learned to refine her knowledge, deepen her faith, and expand her heart. Upon completing his yoga therapy program, Gary asked that she commit to serving those who would not normally find yoga. He remains an important teacher in her life and she does her best to honor his request every day.
Megan shares yoga with students around the world, most of whom were reluctant beginners upon meeting her. Her students are lawyers, teachers, doctors, psychotherapists, CEOs, and world-class bodybuilders. For four years, she led a 500-hour trauma-aware yoga program for US military veterans and she continues to mentor a growing sangha of veteran yogis. To all, she offers what she’s learned about love, wisdom, and the peace that follows.
In addition to teaching, Megan is a Satir mentoring specialist and the author of two books: 33 conversations between you, me and God and Come Home: finding comfort in who you are. To learn more about Megan, please visit her website here
