Give the Gift of Yoga

Featuring Karey Lynn Krampota, RYT-200

With the holidays around the corner, have you considered giving the gift of yoga to friends, family, a co-worker or your employees?

At 5 Koshas, we have the space and professional teachers to lead many different types of sessions customized to your needs. It is one of our favorite ways to share the gift of yoga. We begin by understanding your group wellness and health goals. Then we create a practice that is accessible, inclusive, safe and relevant to those who participate.

Three key areas we consider for a tailored yoga session include:

  1. Initial Group Assessment & Objective Setting: Begin by understanding the group’s characteristics and needs.
  • Group Demographics & Pre-Existing Conditions: We identify age range, general wellness level, presence of any common injuries or pre-existing conditions, and physical modifications needed.
  • Goals & Intentions: What is the overall intention and goal for the group seeking a session and how can we best support them?
  • Experience Level: We consider your group’s prior experience with yoga to select appropriate techniques and application to the session.
  1. Adapting the Physical Practice Movement—Asana: Then, we consider and offer yoga postures that are based on the initial objective and assessment.
  • Modifications & Props: We offer variations of poses that make them easier through modifications or more challenging through verifications. We may consider utilizing props such as blocks, straps, blankets and chairs.
  • Pacing & Duration: We set the class timeframe based on the event allotment and demographic.
  • Focus Areas: We design practices that specifically address the group’s needs.
  1. Integrating Complementary Practices—Breathwork—Pranayama, Meditation & Guided Relaxation: Finally, we create a tailored practice that may incorporate other aspects of Yoga beyond the postures to enhance the customization and that align with the group’s goals.

5 Koshas has partnered with a wide range of groups for private yoga events, including:

  • Girl Scout Yoga
  • Bridal Shower Yoga
  • Family Birthday or Bonding Yoga
  • Empowering Women Yoga
  • Yoga For Realtors

How many people can attend a private group offering?

Generally, we can accommodate around 20 participants for private sessions held at 5 Koshas. For offsite sessions, we consider the space available and the modality offered to determine the best group size. If you are seeking a more intimate experience, or practicing yoga postures that require wider range of motion, you may wish to limit participation to a smaller group size.

Testimonials:

Girl Scout Yoga:

“Last winter my girl scout troop came to 5 Koshas to work on their My Best Self badge. Karey had done a wonderful job of keeping my brownie troop ages 8-9 years engaged after school. They learned the importance of mindfulness and how simple breathing techniques, stretches and movements can help them relax and regain their composure if they are feeling stressed.

I would highly recommend this training for any child. With so many external stressors that our children deal with in our modern life, we need to also give our children the tools they need in order to appropriately cope with stress and anxiety. Mindfulness helps give children control back in lives that they so desperately need.

Thank you Karey for sharing your knowledge with my troop!” – Sarah Beaumont Troop 7059 Leader

Women United Lunch & Learn: Stress Less & Cultivate Calm – Chair Yoga, Mindfulness & Breathwork:

“Lunch and Learn with Women United, plus a touch of Yoga, what more could I ask for on a Tuesday? Karey was a delight to have in our presence. The typical meeting room transformed to a lively lunchroom with rich conversation and connection. Following lunch, we were able to transform our minds, without even changing the scenery. Karey led us through breath techniques to ground us along with gentle movements that provided relaxation and release from the daily grind of office life. One participant commented that the movements felt better than a massage. We had time to ask questions along the way, even for a few laughs. Karey led the group with openness and grace. I felt revived, excited, and grateful for the experience provided by 5 Koshas and Women United.” -JW

“Chair yoga was a great experience for all ages. When I am at work or anywhere really, it is definitely necessary and helpful to have deep breathing techniques on hand. Karey showed us techniques that we could use throughout the day, as well as it was a positive and fun experience. Karey really listened to what we had to say and applied that to the practice of Yoga. My favorite part is that throughout the session we built relationships and related to one another. I think once you take a moment to breathe deeply, it creates spaces to build relationships.” -KB

Yoga & Mindfulness For Parents & Child Providers:

“Our team at Children’s Wisconsin partnered with 5 Koshas Yoga Studio and Karey Krampota for a ‘Yoga and Mindfulness for Parents and Child Providers’ session. It was a nice opportunity to slow down, learn simple mindfulness tools, and connect around ways to manage stress in our work with families. We appreciated the welcoming space and chance to focus on well-being together.” -Paige Dunn, Children’s Wisconsin: Yoga & Mindfulness For Parents & Child Providers to Manage Stress & Create Calm
