“Belly dancing is one of the more physically relaxed dances out there. It doesn’t really force your body to perform uncomfortable moves or work against itself. Instead, it’s the exact opposite: you’re supposed to work with your body. All of the moves in belly dancing – when done correctly – naturally bring your body to the correct alignment and give it better poise.” (Reference: citydance.org)

Tribal Belly Dance 8-Week Series – Strong Arms and Flowing Veils

All levels

With Pamela Luedtke and Anna Nummelin. Live drumming by JoAnn Nelson

Tuesdays meeting, 6:00 – 7:00 PM

This 9-week session will focus on strong, graceful arms, expressive hand movements, and stunning and mysterious veil work.  Foundational belly dance movements including hips, walking patterns, turns, shimmies, undulations, and isolations will also be incorporated in the session for a delightful, full-body experience.  Please bring a veil to class with you each week. We’d recommend approximately 3 yards of some type of light flowing fabric like chiffon or silk.  Veils or fabric can be purchased online or from a fabric store.

Our Hafla (belly dance party) will be in the evening on Thursday, November 15, in Stevens Point. Location and exact times TBD.
