“While yoga is a form of self-discovery, it is nice to feel the support of community in a group class. We gather together, you unroll your mat, unfold your body, and unwind your mind.”

I’m Pauline Zweck and I offer private instruction and sessions for special events, along with teaching several yoga classes at 5 Koshas, including:

Gentle Yoga for Beginners & Beyond

Senior Chair Yoga Therapeutics

With a long career in accounting, many years engaged in aerobic and ballroom dancing, and a love of nature, I bring a different perspective to my yoga teaching. I understand stress, deadlines, and fatigue from sitting all day. I understand the calming and nurturing influence of nature. And I understand how moving the body is an intricate, graceful connection of mind, body, and breath. My intention is to weave my love of nature, art, and movement into my yoga classes, helping you experience the benefits of yoga to reduce stress and become more aware and present.

Yoga is a journey. In my classes, you will learn the fundamentals of basic yoga postures and that all movement starts from within. I’ll help you experience how your yoga practice can make a difference in your daily life. You increase your flexibility, strength, balance and mental clarity, but more happens. The conscious movement and breath awareness you practice in yoga class goes deeper. My goal is that you leave feeling energized, yet calm – ready to meet even the stressful, or challenging parts of your day.

I enjoy watching that moment when new students get out of their head. Their yoga poses become less rigid and they’ve made the “my breath initiates my movement” connection.

My Favorite Yoga Pose

Dvipada Pitham/Setu Bandhasana

Bridge Pose

I love the tactile connection of my feet anchoring me on the mat, allowing me to explore freedom and expansion of the front body, the awareness of my spine moving one vertebra at a time, and the slight flattening of the cervical spine. The arm adaptations create a fluidity and grace. I feel so connected to my breath. So strong, steady, safe, and free.

What they say...

“Pauline is an awesome instructor, very knowledgeable, kind and caring. I have back issues and she has been very helpful and considerate in helping me with modifications and making sure I have the correct postures and props to assist me. I very highly recommend taking a Yoga class with Pauline!”  -Sandi B.

“I have been interested in yoga for a long time and am very pleased to have found Pauline and 5 Koshas. The class is paced perfectly for a beginner like me, but also challenging enough for more experienced yoga students. Pauline takes time to explain the various poses and to suggest modifications where needed. I enjoy the way Pauline incorporates what is happening in our outside world into yoga practice; it helps me to become more mindful of the ways we are physically affected by everyday life and to take measures to alleviate some of that physical distress. Love this yoga class and plan to attend for a long time to come! ”  – Carole W.

“I have been practicing yoga with Pauline Zweck for many years and I continue to look forward to each and every session.  Her genuine concern and sensitivity for each of us and our individual needs is evident in each class.  Her game plan is flexible not rigid, and can be adapted to whatever is required for that period of time. Through Pauline, I have managed to bring the philosophy of yoga into my everyday life.  Learning to be still and concentrate on my breathing has provided a balance that has helped me through life’s struggles.  When the mind and body quiet and join together, focusing is easier. More peace and acceptance equals less stress. Pauline has also shared readings, music and humor that keep her classes interesting and inspiring.  I feel privileged and blessed to have learned and benefited from these yoga practices with hopes to continue for many more years to come. ” – J.F.
