“In my classes, I aim to create a space where students feel safe, seen, and supported—regardless of their experience level. My teaching invites a gentle return to presence through breath, movement, and self-awareness.” – Ursa Abernathy, RYT 200
INTENTIONS:
In my classes, I aim to create a space where students feel safe, seen, and supported—regardless of their experience level. My teaching invites a gentle return to presence through breath, movement, and self-awareness. I hope each student leaves class feeling a little more grounded, spacious, and connected to themselves. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, emotional balance, or a more mindful relationship with your body, my intention is to meet you where you are and offer tools that are both accessible and sustainable.
MY YOGA EXPERIENCE:
Yoga has been a guiding presence in my life for the past decade—sometimes consistent, sometimes in the background. It has gradually become a daily practice and, eventually, a professional path. What drew me in was yoga’s deep roots as a path of personal transformation. As someone who has walked through major life transitions and trauma healing, I recognized in yoga the same timeless wisdom that underpins much of today’s transformational coaching work. Over the years, yoga has helped me reconnect with my body, navigate emotional terrain, and come home to myself again and again.
I’m a certified Viniyoga teacher with advanced training in yoga therapy principles and embodiment practices. My teaching blends mindfulness, functional movement, breath awareness, and nervous system regulation, with an emphasis on adapting practices to serve the needs of each individual. I’m currently completing my 300-hour advanced Viniyoga training with a focus on stress resilience and mental health. My approach is therapeutic in nature—gentle, intentional, and deeply informed by both personal experience and continued study.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
I bring over 20 years of experience in corporate environments as a business analyst, paired with a strong background in coaching focused on personal and professional development. My work as a coach has helped individuals navigate career transitions, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with their inner clarity and purpose. This coaching lens deeply informs my approach to yoga and wellness, allowing me to meet people where they are and offer practical, compassionate tools for real-life integration. Alongside my training in wellness coaching, embodiment, and yoga, I’ve created and led stress resilience programs for individuals and groups, blending modern coaching frameworks with timeless yogic principles.
MORE ABOUT ME:
Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and being in nature—especially walking along the river. I value authenticity, presence, and helping individuals walk their own unique path with compassion and clarity.
