The idea of turning our love inward with the same capacity we freely give to others may seem foreign at first. With regular practice you will begin to trust the feelings and soak in the benefits of offering yourself love.
The tools used in this series include:
~ Yoga poses to relieve stress and invite self-compassion into your practice
~ Breath techniques to quiet the mind and bring awareness to the present
~ Mantra to invite love into your heart through thought/sound/and emotion
~ Guided meditations to connect to your heart center where love resides
~ Guided relaxations to rest your body, mind, and heart
Benefits of these practices:
~ Strengthen and lengthen muscles to release stress & tension
~ Learn how to invoke the feelings of love and turn them inward to yourself
~ Lower resting heart rate and blood pressure
~ When practiced in the evening can be helpful to prepare for sleep
~ Helpful for symptoms of anxiety or depression
Ways to use the series:
~ Practice one class/week. Repeat daily or as often as convenient for you that week.
~ After you practice the entire class , you may want to practice short portions at a time
rather than the entire class.
~ Use the mantra from class daily for a week
~ Reflect daily on emotions that come up for you. You may want to journal your experience.
~ Practice the breath techniques or meditation at night before bed (the last 20 minutes of class)
One additional simple practice recommended to add to this series is the following:
~ Twice daily look at your reflection in a mirror, place your hands over your heart, and tell yourself ” I love you” ” May I be happy, healthy, loved, and at peace”
~ Best times of the day to do this practice is when you brush your teeth in the morning and in the evening before bed.
