Faculty:
Andrew Beaumont, MD, PhD, RYT-500, is a neurosurgeon specializing in diseases of the spine, with a research background in Physiology. On a personal level he has a deep interest in and training in Yoga, Ayurveda and other traditional medicine systems. He has academic interest in understanding the modern physiology and science behind ancient wellness and healing modalities, including breathing, sound, and meditation. He is a partner and teacher with 5 Koshas Yoga & Wellness and is faculty with the River Flow Yoga Teacher Training School. Dr. Beaumont will lecture on physiology, the stress response and digestion, and traditional medicine systems as well as teach Yoga Therapy practices in the class series

Jay Coldwell, RYT-200, is a Certified Viniyoga Wellness Instructor and iRest™ Level 2 Teacher as well as a partner with 5 Koshas Yoga & Wellness. He studies Vedic chant with Linda Spackman and is on the faculty of the River Flow Yoga Teacher Training School where he teaches Vedic chanting. Jay has cultivated a lifelong interest in scripture, sacred music and chant and contemplative practice. Jay will teach iRest® techniques, a meditation practice based on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra in this class series. iRest® techniques promote peace and wellbeing.

Mary Hilliker, RDN, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and a partner, Certified Viniyoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist with 5 Koshas Yoga & Wellness. She is the director and lead teacher for the River Flow Yoga Teacher Training School. Mary will lecture on Yoga Therapy and Integrative Nutrition as well as teach Yoga Therapy practices in this class series. One of her greatest joys is teaching accessible, sustainable and healing yoga to students, aspiring yoga teachers and experienced yoga teachers who are interested in learning more.

Dr. Beaumont is a neurosurgeon specializing in diseases of the spine, with a research background in Physiology. He has academic interest in understanding the modern physiology and science behind ancient wellness and healing modalities, including breathing, sound, and meditation. Dr. Beaumont is a registered yoga teacher at the 500 hour level and is a Yoga Therapist Certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Mary Hilliker

Mary’s intention is to meet you where you are and to help you move and change from that starting point. Her class series, workshops, and retreats highlight yoga tools and practices that help you gain self-sufficiency and independence in your home practice.  Her Yoga Therapy practice and Yoga Therapy groups focuses on healing and recovery from injury, surgery and illness, pain management, stress and anxiety management, and trauma recovery.

Mary has been a yoga practitioner for 32 years and a teacher for 23 years. She holds certifications as a 200 hr. level Hatha yoga teacher, 500 hr. Viniyoga teacher, and Viniyoga Therapist.  She is a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and past Curriculum Coordinator and Faculty with the American Viniyoga Institute’s Yoga Therapist Training.  Locally, Mary coordinates and is the lead teacher for the 200 hr. and 300 hr. River Flow Yoga Teacher Trainings.

Her 30 year career as a registered dietitian/nutritionist and health educator in public health, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention, inform her yoga teaching and individualized Yoga Therapy.

 

Jay Coldwell

Jay Coldwell, RYT-200, a graduate of River Flow Yoga Teacher Training School, with Mary Hilliker. He is an iRest Level 2 Teacher, having studied with Richard Miller and Stephanie Lopez. Jay has studied Vedic Chant with Sonia Nelson and Linda Spackman at the Vedic Chant Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, continues to study Yoga Sutra and Vedic Chant with Linda. Jay is also studying classical Non-dual Shaiva Tantra with Kathleen Knipp.
