“The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness.” Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
Every season has its gifts, yet in the warmer months, the sun’s potency pulses with the earth’s push to offer another layer of life: flowers, food, shade & sounds…and, of course, so much more.
What are some of the details you notice as the days stretch and lengthen from their winter slumber?
You may sense the conversations of the earth and sky within budding seeds and bird song; when opening windows, feeling warmer winds and being nudged with fresh ideas.
The relationship between nature and humans can be nurtured in many ways, traditional and new.
Moving and breathing are pure forms of connection with the earth, flowers, trees, sky and all the creatures that let us share this planet with them.
It can be as habitual and rhythmic as planting flowers and listening to rain.
It may be a new ritual you are drawn to during the warmer season:
- planting pollinators
- researching bees
- hanging a new bird feeder
- organizing a container garden
- sitting outside and observing your surroundings
- playing pickle ball or watching pickle ball
- turning off the tv, computer, phone
- walking, running, biking
- practicing outdoor yoga
In celebration and support of your moving, breathing, listening; connecting to the rhythm of nature, to humans and to a collective intention, you are invited to join us for outdoor yoga classes this summer and fall View More Details HERE

What Students Say
“I have been participating in outdoor Yoga on the Mountain from the start of Heather’s classes there. It is so wonderful to practice outdoors, especially on the mountain. It deepens your practice to embrace the profound effect that nature has on our being. It is calming and a great stress reliever when you tune into the birds singing, the wind blowing, the trees rustling and even an occasional rainfall during practice. We have enjoyed beautiful weather, rainfalls, cold temps (we bring wool hats and mittens), a rainbow, and one evening fog rolled in and encased us, blotting out everything below us. My advice to anyone considering starting yoga is, just do it. You’ll never regret it.” – Debbie Henry
“I’ve been attending Yoga on the Mountain for about 3 years now. The practice is so peaceful and makes me feel grounded after the workday. It’s a great combination of an all-over stretch and a challenge to my practice with the asanas.” -JoAnn Macl
